This week we explore some more of the Schizophonic’s favorite records. PLUS, tune in to find out how to win free vinyl on next week’s show!
Tonight we test our strength with power metal, process some progressive and punk rock, hang out with some hard-core jams, revisit some ragtime tunes, try to balance out our inner being through musical tones and psych and submit to Sabbath Worship once again. We are also giving away a free record among those who were attentive enough to catch up with how to enter! All this happens on Episode 46 of Monuments in Ruin!
To celebrate our 45th episode, we speed things up this week with a 45 rpm special edition of Monuments in Ruin! It doesn’t matter if you refer to the 7 inch single as a rock ‘n’ roll standard, juke box memory, an underground passport, the friendliest way to share publicity and distribution or simply consider it to be punk rock royalty, there is no doubt that this format has and still does play a huge part in the world of music. Break out those spiders, automatic metal adapters or SX2’s because we are turning the air waves back over to one of the music worlds most loved, classic and physical representations, the 45 rpm 7 inch single!
Giving away a sealed copy of the heavy and killer new album, “The Unknown Secretary” by BUS, tonight on Max Wax! Listen LIVE to win and be ready to text in when you hear the cue (this happened in the past… sorry). This Red/Black Marble LP on Twin Earth Records will be going to the fastest one to text in. On top of that, you get an hour of heaviness from across the spectrum. Let’s rock!!! #maxwax #freevinyl Thanks to Ric Bennett for sponsoring the giveaway!
Tonight we focus on the tones and aesthetics of what many call Sabbath Worship. It’s not surprising why so many of the records in our heavy music library lean toward the pioneering efforts of Black Sabbath. The plan for this episode is to lightly scratch the surface of this phenomenon with a small number of current artists basking in the vintage riffs, techniques and legacy of a sounds delivered to the world in mass scale over 45 years ago. We are gonna play a few Black Sabbath tunes, as well.
Labor Day Weekend here in the States… which means tonight’s a PARTY!!! Not only that, but this is the first show on Trendkill that is going out LIVE. This also means that Mack’s a little nervous about how this one’s gonna go, but it promises to entertain! Live and off the two turntables in the studio, we’re hitting a ton of the heavy… so come get some!
This week we talk about traveling, heat exhaustion, an extreme music festival and tap into some songwriters in musical parallels. While some artists use one project as a total catharsis, others require a pallet a bit more broad in scope. This week’s episode showcases a few artists that require more than one project to purge their musical expression.
