Monuments in Ruin, Ch. 137

Not all music choices are typical because not all albums are created equally. Artists push the boundaries of sound, comfort and expression. We are all individuals experiencing time in our own way. Some individuals hear the beauty in floors creaking while others hear the chaos of a violin and cello in odd pitches and time measures. Join your host for a walk on the paths less traveled and experience the outer reaches of sound. Monuments in Ruin Episode 137 finds comfort in the obscurity of the arts.

Stepping out onto the ledge, this week we take another path less traveled. Though some of the tracks are very familiar, the basic thought is how they tie together and their parallel in the music world. While some are pushing boundaries into obscurity, others have become modern classics for the directions they chose.
Post show notation: Neglected to mention, Fire and Rain was originally written by James Taylor. The Hubert Laws version is so much different and extremely enjoyable. The direction takes a great song into greater places through a totally different listening experience.
