Feeling heavy? Same here… so it’s a solid hour of metal on a brand new Max Wax. Pallbearer, High On Fire, Hatebreed, Fit For A King, Deftones, Isis the band and way more. Take that load off… and crank it.
On tonight’s Max Wax, we’re going from obscure Jazz/Funk/Fusion of the Beastie Boys to the Truckfighters to the Black Crowes, with many crazy stops along the way. Check out some old favorites, new vibes and a ton of solid vinyl from the Trendkill Studios, including some killer heaviness from our new friends, Cincinnati’s own Spring Grove!
My favorite band that I can’t spin… Sevendust…. Max Wax, Volume 61. I’d buy the comprehensive boxset of their career on vinyl for $350 right now, but no such beast exists. So, I’m just going to do an hour show that’s NOT off vinyl (trust me… I don’t feel right about it) in an effort to appeal the God’s of Vinyl Heaviness for some 7D records.
As the founder of Trendkill, I’m happy to announce that we have new partners, new energy, a new Programming Director and a renewed sense of purpose. As such, I’m back with a brand new Max Wax tonight, featuring a different kind of heavy in my world. Grab your favorite bottle and join me for a whole lot of killer tunes that lift the weight. 9PM EST at trendkillradio.com
Something a little different for your Wednesday night… it’s Mack and I’m in the new studio about to lay down my first live hour of vinyl, straight off my wheels to your ears. This happened LIVE at 9PM EST Wednesday, Feb. 15th and you can catch it live at that day and time weekly. Shows will always be available right here by the next morning, though, so hit play and get loud as I drop the needle on Sabbath, Black Label Society, Megadeth, Crowbar, Stone Sour, The Atomic Bitchwax and a ton more.
It’s been a long day and I’m really ready to sit down and spin some choice cuts off of each of these albums for you. Look deep enough into what I’m playing and you’ll see that each of these tracks deals with what, I would say, most of us Americans have been witnessing, reading, feeling and dealing with for a while now. Today, things change… for good or for bad, but things change. F’n cheers to that!
Tonight’s LIVE Max Wax is a show in four parts, with very little talk in between. The evening begins with three brutal tracks off of new releases from some of the most killer in the doom and thrash genres, then we’ll shift to three screeching tracks from a few of the 80’s heaviest thrash acts, then we switch over to tracks from three amazing bands that are comprised of musicians from “more famous” bands… and we’ll be closing out with an amazing live track from Austin’s own Gary Clark Jr. Did I mention it’s live? So… anything may happen!!! All vinyl… all heavy… all candy for yo’ ears.
Ready for Halloween? We are, too, so Mack’s getting the mood rolling towards the big night with a dark and eerie show that you don’t want to listen to with the lights off. We’re exploring dark themes ranging from doom to metal to humorous to… classical? Every last drop of this one will leave you ready to turn on the closet light, pull the covers over your head and pray that you live to see November. Oh yeah… and it’s all coming at you LIVE (and undead). Video will be rolling live, as well,, so join in the celebration and bring your Ouija Board.
What’s with this cool new trend of Acoustic and Electric albums being released the same year? What’s up with the fact I’ve never heard of the band Arctic? What’s coming down the pipe at KTFT for our favorite holiday, Halloween? What’s the BRAND NEW SHOW debuting this Sunday night??? And what’s this about a TALK RADIO PODCAST??? I’m answering all kinds of stuff tonight.
