Pixies are probably a bigger influence on the music world than anyone can actually pinpoint. They have never soared into the mainstream spotlight like many of the artists who utilized their songwriting format in later years. Early in their career they managed to record some of music history’s greatest albums. They sound as fresh today as any music fan could ask for. The band formed in Boston, Massachusetts sometime around 1986 and the band members have been consistently recording great songs from that moment forward. Together as the Pixies or separate across multiple groups and solo efforts, this hour is dedicated to the music of Charles Michael Kittridge Thompson IV (aka Black Francis aka Frank Black), Joey Santiago, Kim Deal (aka Mrs. John Murphy aka Tammy Ampersand) and David Lovering. Also known as Pixies.
